Gregory E. LeBlanc, Ph.D., L.Ac., Dipl.Ac., Dipl.C.H.
Hello and thank you for visiting our website. I love acupuncture and Chinese medicine, it has been my absolute pleasure for over 21 years to share this wonderful and powerful modality in healing, health and well being.
My involvement with Chinese medicine began as a teenager when my Kung Fu teacher promoted acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and Chi Kung as solutions to a variety of health problems. I was successfully treated for chronic asthma, allowing me to participate in High school sports and continue a life long dedication to the martial arts. Having experienced directly how Chinese medicine is a powerful choice in health and well-being, I decided I wanted to be able to help others in the same way. I have been practicing Chinese Medicine since 1996 and in that time have provided over 25,000 acupuncture treatments.
To practice Acupuncture in the state of California, one must successfully complete 3,000 total hours - including 2,000 didactic and 1000 clinical hours. Most people finish this arduous journey over a four-year period of time. The Master's Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine is the longest master's program in the entire country. Even after the diploma is obtained, one must pass the esteemed California Acupuncture Licensing Exam, which boasts statistics of 49% to 61% pass-rates over the last six years. The NCCAOM accredits acupuncturists on a National level, which assures consistency in the professional standards.
Greg was licensed in 1996 by the California Acupuncture Board and by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Greg is an acupuncture provider for the US Department of Veterans Affairs (TriWest Healthcare alliance) and The Office of Workers' Compensation Program.
Greg holds a Master's degree in Oriental Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy in Buddhist studies. He is the chief instructor at LeBlanc Wing Chun, a Bay Area based martial arts school focused on self-protection and physical education. Greg has served as an instructor at both SAMRA University and the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences; teaching acupuncture point location, pharmacology and nutrition. Greg trained directly with Dr. Richard Tan, learning the entire Balance Method firsthand from its creator. Most recently he has trained privately with Dr. David Twicken, focusing on I Ching acupuncture and advanced integration of channel theory point selection acupuncture.
