Strength coaching
Strength: Strength improves endurance, coordination and balance. A stronger body makes daily tasks easier, and will help you keep doing what you love, like hiking, biking, or climbing. Barbell training is the most effective way to get stronger, and Gwyn specializes in coaching the basic lifts safely and thoroughly.
A former professional dancer, Gwyn holds Sandan (3rd degree black belt) in Danzan Ryu Jujutsu, Toyama Ryu Battodo and Yondan (4th degree black belt) in Aikido. She has been an instructor at Suigetsukan Dojo since 2009 and a head self defense instructor with the Girl Army self defense collective since 2004.
Gwyn became a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner in 2007, and has been the co-owner of Turning Point Acupuncture and Feldenkrais since that time. She specializes in working with older adults, helping them retain function in their daily lives through easier standing, sitting and walking. Gwyn is delighted to help others discover how to use barbell training to regain strength and function.
